There is plenty of opportunity to sing in a choir at St Mary's, and all are welcome! Our choir sings at all main services and, by arrangement, at weddings and funerals.
There are two choir practices a week. Our more experienced choir rehearses in the church for an hour on Friday mornings from 11am and sings an anthem at each main service. We also have a choir practice in the church on Thursday evenings during term-time from 8 - 9pm, especially to welcome those who are new to singing in a choir (and usually followed by a trip to a local hostelry!). The choirs join together once or twice a month to sing at the 9.30am service on the third Sunday of the month and at special services such as Harvest or Toy Sunday.
We are also happy to make arrangements to distribute music to anyone interested in singing with us who is unable to attend either of these rehearsals.
If you enjoy singing and would like to join us please contact Suzanna Brooks for more details either after a service, by phone (212948) or by e-mail as we are always delighted to welcome new members.
If you would like to read more about the choir, the choir's calendar is written up in a monthly article in our Parish Magazine.
