Confirmation Courses

Courses leading candidates to confirmation are held annually at St Mary's.

Confirmation 2011

On Sunday 22nd May, there were 234 people in St Mary's church when Bishop Stephen, on his first visit to St Mary's church, confirmed 24 candidates. 18 were members of our congregation, 4 candidates from Christ Church, Warley, 1 from St Mary's, Maldon and 1 from Chelmsford Cathedral.

Copies of the photos may be ordered in church until the middle of June 2011.

Confirmation Service 2010

St Mary's church was packed with people on a lovely sunny Sunday when Bishop Laurie baptised 2 candiates and then confirmed 11 members of our congregation on Sunday 23rd May. They were joined by 4 candidates from St Peter's, South Weald and 2 from St Andrew's, Rochford.

The candiates were supported by their families and many of the congregation. St Mary's candidates will be attending their first Sunday communion on Sunday 30th May where they will be welcomed by the congregation and the Rector.

Confirmation Service 2009

Bishop Laurie confirmed 16 members of our congregation on Sunday 10th May together with 3 candidates from the parish of Doddinghurst. They were supported by their families and many of the congregation. After the service, the candidates were able to have group and individual photos taken with Bishop Laurie as a memory of this special occasion in their lives. St Mary's candidates attended their first Sunday communion on Sunday 17th May where they were welcomed by the congregation and met the new Rector.
